There are two 14-day rights, with different texts and recipients: that of anyone who buys from a professional on MyFitnessClient and that of the professional who takes out a paid MyFitnessClient plan. The table compares the two.
| Point | Purchase from a professional | Paid MyFitnessClient plan |
|---|---|---|
| Who can withdraw | Anyone who buys a plan, a package or a course from a professional as a consumer. | The professional who takes out a paid plan or an add-on service as a consumer. |
| Deadline | 14 days from the purchase, without giving a reason. | 14 days from taking out the contract, without giving a reason and at no cost. The trial period counts towards the deadline. |
| How to withdraw | Tell the professional through the contact on the payment page. | An unequivocal statement to MyFitnessClient, for example an email to [email protected] or a letter. There is no button in the dashboard. |
| Model form | Optional. It is on the Legal information page, in the Right of withdrawal (cancelling a purchase) section. | Optional. It is in the Terms of Service, in the Right of withdrawal (consumers) section. |
| Who refunds | The professional, who is the seller. MyFitnessClient provides the platform and is not a party to the contract. | MyFitnessClient: all payments, within 14 days of receiving the statement, using the same means of payment. |
| If the service started within the deadline | If you asked the professional to start before the deadline ended, they can keep the part already provided. For a course, you lose the right when, at purchase, you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that loss. | If you asked for the service to start within the deadline, you pay only for the part provided until you give notice of the withdrawal. |
Both models are in the Legal information and the Terms of Service.
If you bought from a professional
The contract is between you and the professional, not with MyFitnessClient. On the Stripe payment page, next to the pay button, the “Sold by” notice says who sells and how to contact them: the contact email of the professional’s public profile or, if there is none, the email of their account. The notice only appears when the professional has a name on their profile.
When you make the purchase yourself, the notice adds the withdrawal sentence: you can withdraw within 14 days of the purchase, without giving a reason, by telling the professional, and the sentence gives the address of the model withdrawal form. This happens:
- on a plan you subscribe to;
- on a package you buy, renew or pay for to join with an invitation.
The sentence does not appear on a package the professional assigned to you, on a charge they created or on the payment page of a course.
Withdraw from a plan
To withdraw from a plan within the 14 days, tell the professional through the contact on the Stripe payment page. The professional has 14 days to refund what you paid, minus the part already provided if you asked them to start earlier. The website and the app have no button to withdraw. In an older version of the app, Settings > Plans may still show “Withdraw from contract”: a request made there ends the plan right away and cannot be undone.
Courses
On the web, a course’s purchase page has two boxes to tick, and the pay button only becomes active with both ticked. The second says “I want immediate access to the course and understand that, once it starts, I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal.” By ticking it, you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right when access starts. The purchase confirmation email repeats the boxes you ticked, with the date.
For a purchase made without that box, the confirmation email says you have 14 days from the purchase to withdraw, by telling the professional, and links to the model withdrawal form. A course’s payment page does not include the withdrawal sentence. The purchase steps are in Buy or subscribe to a course, and the professional’s side in How a course sale works, from purchase to refund.
If you are the professional who sold
When a client withdraws from a plan with the button of an older version of the app, you get the “Client withdrew from a plan” notice in the dashboard notifications and, if you have push notifications on, also by push. You also get an email with the subject “A client withdrew from their plan”. The notice says who withdrew, from which plan and on what date. The subscription ends in Stripe and is not charged again. The refund is not automatic: you make it in your Stripe account, within 14 days. You can only keep the part already provided if the client expressly asked you to start before the deadline ended. See Refunds and disputes for online payments.
If you are a professional and subscribed to a MyFitnessClient plan
If you take out a paid plan or an add-on service as a consumer, the Terms of Service give you 14 days from taking it out to withdraw from the contract. There is no button for this in the dashboard. According to the Terms, the request is made by an unequivocal statement, for example an email to [email protected] or a letter to MyFitnessClient’s address, and you can use the model form included in the Terms.
Cancelling the subscription is something else: you keep the paid plan until the end of the period already paid and, when you cancel part-way through a period, what you already paid is not refunded, except for this right and the other cases provided for in the Terms. See Cancel your subscription and understand what happens next.
Questions
Is withdrawing the same as cancelling the subscription?
No. Cancelling the plan subscription keeps access until the end of the paid period, and cancelling does not refund what you paid. Withdrawing within the 14 days ends the plan right away, and the professional has to refund what you paid, minus the part already provided if you asked them to start earlier. To cancel, see Cancel or resume your plan subscription.
My professional assigned me the package. Can I withdraw on MyFitnessClient?
For a package assigned by the professional, MyFitnessClient does not show a withdrawal deadline: the payment page does not include the sentence. Talk to your professional, who is the seller.
How long does the refund take?
For a purchase from a professional, the professional makes the refund. They have 14 days to do it. For a MyFitnessClient plan, the Terms provide for the refund within 14 days of receiving the statement.
