The side menu is how you move around the professional's dashboard: it takes you to each work area and shows, with red numbers, what is waiting for you. In a window 1024 px wide or more, it is always visible, in a column next to the page. With less width, such as on a phone, it opens with the menu button in the top-left corner of the main pages. The tables follow the order on screen.

What the menu has, from top to bottom

PartWhat it does
MyFitnessClient logoOpens the Dashboard.
Workspace switcherOnly appears when you are a member of another professional's team. It shows the workspace you are in and lets you switch between yours and each team's. Switching reloads the page and opens that workspace's Dashboard.
Main sectionDashboard, My area, Calendar, Clients, Chat and Team.
Management sectionWorkouts, Nutrition, Supplements, Habits, Courses, Assessments, Questionnaires, Progress, Materials and Payments.
Get 1 free month!Opens the Affiliate Program.
Bottom of the menu, on a computerYour photo and your name, which open the profile menu, and the notifications bell.
Bottom of the menu, on a phoneThe Settings item.

On screen, the names of the two sections appear in capital letters. On a computer, the arrow on the edge of the menu (Collapse sidebar) shrinks the menu to a column of icons, and your choice is saved to your account.

The Dashboard is described in The Dashboard: what's waiting for you, today's agenda and business and the affiliate program in Earn free months with the affiliate program.

Main section

The Plan feature column uses the name each feature has in the plans, in Settings > Subscription > Change Plan. The Team permission column only matters when you work in another professional's workspace and uses the names from the team permissions editor.

Programs, exercises, meals and foods do not have their own item: they are tabs in Workouts and in Nutrition.

What the menu hides and what it never hides

  • Your plan never hides an item. When your plan does not include the feature in the table, the item stays in the menu and the page shows the presentation of that feature, with the plan that includes it and the buttons to change your plan. See Feature locked by your plan: what it means.
  • Three pages are not fully locked. Questionnaires shows your check-in, read-only. Courses keeps the list of courses you already had, without letting you create or edit. Team only shows the presentation while you have no team and your plan does not include team members.
  • In another professional's workspace, an item with a permission in the table only appears if you have View in that area. Dashboard, My area, Calendar and Team always appear. Courses never appears, because you manage your courses in your own workspace. See “No permission to access” and menu items missing for a member.
  • In another professional's workspace, the pages follow the plan of that workspace's owner, not yours. The exception is My area.

Red numbers

A red number next to an item tells you how many things are waiting for you in that area.

WhereWhat it counts
ClientsCoaching requests from clients and contacts left on your public profile that you have not handled yet. It is the number on the Requests tab.
ChatUnread messages.
TeamTeam tasks assigned to you, to do or in progress, that are not archived.
QuestionnairesClient responses to review. It only appears when the plan includes Questionnaires.
PaymentsCharges waiting for you: overdue, or with an “I've paid” from the client to confirm. It does not count online payments. It is the number on the Charges tab.
BellA red dot, without a number, when you have unread notices.

In the menu, the number goes up to 999; from 1000 it shows “999+”. With the menu collapsed, the number is replaced by a red dot on the icon and appears when you hover over the item. On a phone, the bar at the bottom of the screen shows the number on Clients and Chat up to 99; from 100 it shows “99+”.

The numbers update by themselves, without reloading the page: when a message, a request, a response or a notice arrives and, at most once a minute, when you return to the dashboard tab. On the Dashboard, the “Waiting for you” list shows the same numbers for Clients, Chat, Team, Questionnaires and Payments.

Profile menu and bell

On a computer, the bottom of the menu shows your photo, with your status dot, and your name. Selecting that row opens the profile menu, with these options.

Next to the profile, the bell opens the Notifications list, with your notices.

On a phone

In a window less than 1024 px wide, the menu opens over the page and closes when you choose an item, when you select the darkened part of the page or with the Esc key. It has the same two sections and the Get 1 free month! shortcut, and ends with the Settings item. It has neither the profile menu nor the bell: the bell is in the header and opens the Notifications page, and the theme, language, status and signing out are in Settings.

The bar at the bottom of the screen has up to five shortcuts: Dashboard, Calendar, Clients, Workouts and Chat. In another professional's workspace, Clients, Workouts and Chat only appear with the View permission for the area. The bar and the header are hidden on detail pages and while a conversation is open. The bar is also hidden while a window is open or the keyboard is showing.

Questions

Why can't I see an item in the menu?

In your own workspace, all items appear. In another professional's workspace, you are missing the View permission for that item's area, or the item is Courses. See “No permission to access” and menu items missing for a member.

Where are programs, exercises, meals and foods?

They do not have their own item. Programs and exercises are tabs in Workouts. Meals and foods are tabs in Nutrition.

I opened an item and I see the presentation of a feature. Why?

Your plan does not include the feature for that area. The menu shows the item anyway, and the page says which plan includes it. To compare plans, see Plans and prices.

Where is Settings?

On a computer, in the profile menu, at the bottom of the side menu. On a phone, it is the last item in the menu.
