Verify your email with the 6-digit code or the link

Web and appUpdated on

In MyFitnessClient, confirm your email with the 6-digit code or the button in the email to activate your account, right after you sign up.

Before you start

  • You need access to the inbox of the email address you created the account with: that is where we send the “Confirm your email” email, right after you sign up.
  • The code has 6 digits and is valid for 30 minutes. After 5 wrong attempts it is no longer accepted and you have to request another one.
  • Until your email is confirmed, you can't get into your account: when you sign in with your email and password, you go back to the code screen.

Steps

To confirm your email on the website with the code:

  1. In your inbox, open the “Confirm your email” email and find the 6-digit code.
  2. Go back to the Verify your email screen. It is the last step of sign-up and also the verification page that opens when you sign in with an unconfirmed email.
  3. Type the 6 digits in the boxes, or paste the whole code into the first box.
  4. Wait for the verification, which starts on its own at the sixth digit. The Verify button does the same; on the verification page it is called Verify Email.

Your account is confirmed and you are signed in automatically: you go to the dashboard if you are a professional, or to the client app if you are a client. If you were opening an invite, you carry on with it.

In the app

  • The Verify your email screen opens on its own after you create your account and shows the address we sent the code to.
  • Type the 6 digits. To paste the code you copied from the email, select Paste code, under the boxes, or press and hold the boxes; with a screen reader, use the field's Paste code action. It works even if the code has spaces or hyphens, such as 123 456, or is inside a sentence, such as “Your code is 123456”. If there is no 6-digit code to paste, “There's no code to paste” appears. The same button exists for the other codes in the app, such as the two-factor authentication code.
  • The verification starts on its own at the sixth digit; the Confirm button does the same. Then you are signed in to the app. If it is a professional account, the email is confirmed, but the app shows “This app is exclusively for clients”: select Open web version and sign in on the website.
  • Resend code becomes available 60 seconds after the screen opens; until then, you see a countdown of the seconds left.
  • The Confirm email button in the email opens the website, not the app. If you confirm that way, go back to the app and sign in with your email and password.

Confirm with the button in the email

  • In the “Confirm your email” email, select Confirm email. You don't need to type the code, and it works on another device, for example your phone.
  • The page opens in the browser, shows “Verifying link...” and confirms your account on its own. You are signed in on that browser and go to your area.
  • The button is valid for 30 minutes, like the code. After that, the page shows “Invalid or expired link.” and the code boxes: select Resend code and use the new email. If you had already confirmed your account, no new email arrives: sign in with your email and password.
  • If you requested another code, the button in the previous email stops working: always use the most recent email.

Resend the code

  • Select Resend code. A new email arrives, with another code and another Confirm email button.
  • The new code replaces the previous one: the code and the button in the old email stop working, and you get 30 minutes and 5 attempts again.
  • Only one code is sent per minute. In the last step of sign-up, the “Resend in 60s” countdown starts as soon as you create your account, and the button comes back when it ends. On the verification page, if you ask too soon, “A code was sent a moment ago. Wait a minute before requesting another.” appears and the countdown starts with the seconds left.
  • Resending doesn't fix a mistyped email address: the new code goes to the same address.

Confirm in another tab or on another device

If the button in the email opens in another tab of the same browser, the code tab detects the new session, every 5 seconds and when you go back to it, and moves on to your area on its own.

If you use it on another device, your account is confirmed and you are signed in on that device. The computer stays on the code screen and doesn't move on by itself: there, sign in with your email and password.

Sign in with an unconfirmed email

  • On the website, with the right email and password, the sign-in page takes you to the verification page without sending a new code. If the last code is more than 30 minutes old, select Resend code.
  • In the app, we send a new code right away and the code screen opens. If the last code was sent less than 1 minute ago, the screen opens anyway and that code is still valid.
  • Everything else about signing in is in Sign in and sign out.

Common problems

It appears when you use the button in the email and there is no longer a confirmation pending for that email: you already did it, with the code or the button, or the account no longer exists. If you already confirmed, select Go to login and sign in with your email and password. If you don't have an account yet, select Back to sign-up.

“Invalid code. Try again.”

The code doesn't match the last code sent to the email shown on the screen. In the app, the same situation shows “Invalid or expired code.”. On the website, it also appears when you use the Confirm email button from an email sent before a resend. The boxes are cleared: check that you are using the code from the most recent email and type it again. If you already confirmed your email with the button on another device, sign in with your email and password.

“Code expired. Request a new one.” or “Too many attempts. Try again later.”

The code is more than 30 minutes old, or there have already been 5 wrong attempts, and from then on not even the right code is accepted. Select Resend code and type the code from the new email.

The code didn't arrive

Look in your spam or promotions folder and check the address shown on the code screen. If it is wrong, in the last step of sign-up select Change email: you go back to the first step with the fields filled in. The other causes are in Not receiving the email verification code.
