Weight chart and Measurements card problems in Progress

For professionalsWebBasic plan or higherUpdated on

When a client's Progress in MyFitnessClient doesn't show the weight chart or a measurement in the Measurements card, see the cause and the fix.

Progress charts use the client's check-ins and assessments together. A line needs at least two values: with only one, the value stays in the record and there is no chart. In your dashboard, each client has two screens with charts:

  • The client profile, Progress tab: the Weight Progress chart and, under it, the Measurements card, with the Body composition, Girths and Custom sections.
  • The client's page in the Progress menu: the Body Progress chart, with weight, fat and lean mass, and the Custom card. This page has no Measurements card.

The Progress tab of the profile shows no charts

What you seeCauseWhat to do
“You do not have access to this area”In a team workspace, you don't have the View permission for Assessments. Without it, the menu doesn't show Progress either.Ask the team owner for that permission.
“No progress data”The Progress data didn't load, for example because of a connection or server failure.Reload the page.

For a team member's permissions, see “No permission to access” and menu items missing for a member.

The weight chart doesn't appear

SymptomCauseWhat to do
In the profile, the Weight Progress card says “Insufficient data”.The client has fewer than two records with a weight. Check-ins and assessments both count, from any date.Log the weight in a check-in or an assessment. The chart appears with the second record that has a weight.
On the page in the Progress menu, “No progress data” appears.None of the client's records has a weight or body composition values.Log a check-in or an assessment with the weight.
“No data in this period” appears. The chosen period has no record with a weight or with body composition. The page always opens on the last 3 months (3M).Select All.
The Body Progress chart has no weight line. The period has fewer than two weights, or you turned off Weight in the buttons under the title.Select All or turn on Weight. When you reload the page, only weight is turned on again.
The Fat and Lean Mass buttons aren't there. They only appear when one of the client's records has that value. When they appear, they're turned off: select them to see the line.
Under the Body Progress chart, the sentence “Trend: … kg/week” doesn't appear. The trend needs two weights in the period, with at least 7 days between the first and the last.Choose a longer period, for example All.

I can't see the Measurements card

CauseWhat to do
You're on the client's page in the Progress menu, which doesn't have this card.Open the client profile with the steps that follow.
No measurement has two values. Each measurement counts on its own: a client with five weights and only one waist value doesn't have the waist on the card. With no measurement that has two values, the card doesn't appear, not even its title.Log the measurement in another check-in or another assessment.

To open a client's Measurements card:

  1. In the side menu, select Clients.
  2. In the list, select the client.
  3. In the client profile, select the Progress tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Measurements card, under Weight Progress.
  5. Optional: to see another measurement, open the list next to the title and choose it.

The card shows the measurement's latest value, the change since the first value and the chart.

The measurement I'm looking for isn't in the list

The list on the Measurements card only shows measurements with two or more values, grouped by section. A section with none of those measurements doesn't appear. With only one measurement, there's no list: the card shows that measurement's name.

  • Weight is never in the list: it has its own chart, Weight Progress.
  • 13 measurements are included. In Body composition: body fat, muscle mass, lean mass, body water, visceral fat and basal metabolism. In Girths: waist, hips, chest, left arm, right arm, left thigh and right thigh.
  • Other girths, skinfolds and tests aren't included in the card. When you open one of the client's assessments, each measurement with a value in two or more assessments has a small chart next to the value.

A custom metric is missing

Your custom metrics appear in the Custom section of the Measurements card and, on the page in the Progress menu, in the Custom card. Only Number and Time fields with a value in at least two assessments are included. A check-in doesn't store custom fields, so it doesn't count.

These metrics load after the rest of the page and may appear a moment later. If loading fails, they're left out without a warning: reload the page. A field you removed stays on the chart while it has two values, with “(Removed)” after its name.

The card always opens on the same measurement

The card opens on the last measurement you chose, for any client. The choice is saved in this browser and also applies to the Custom card on the page in the Progress menu. In another browser or on another device, or after the browser clears the site's data, the card opens on the first measurement in the list.

If the client doesn't have the measurement you chose, the card shows the first one in the list and keeps your choice: for the next client who has it, it opens on it again.

A small change looks huge on the chart

On the weight charts and on the Measurements and Custom cards, the vertical axis doesn't start at zero: it runs from slightly less than the lowest value to slightly more than the highest value. So a small difference looks bigger than it is. The exception is the fat axis on the Body Progress chart, which always runs from 0 to 50%.

On a Time metric, the axis is inverted: a shorter time sits higher on the chart.

On the Measurements card, the line under the latest value gives the real change, for example “−4.4 cm since June 28”. The date is that of the measurement's first value, not of the client's first record, and it includes the year when it isn't the current year. The card doesn't show the change in green or red, because going up or down is good or bad depending on the measurement.

The chart dates are one day early

This can happen when the computer is in a time zone behind Greenwich (UTC), such as Brazil's or the Azores' in winter. In that case, the dates on the axis and in the box that appears when you hover over a point show the day before the record. The correct dates are the ones in the list of records and the one in the “since” line. The values don't change.

The client sees something else in their Progress

  • In the client's Progress, fat and lean mass are on the weight chart, so they aren't in the list on their Measurements card.
  • The client's Measurements card doesn't show your custom metrics.
  • In the phone app, the card with a single chart and the choice of measurement are in the latest version of the app. In an earlier version, the client sees a small chart for each measurement.
  • The measurement chosen on the website doesn't carry over to the app. In the app, the choice lasts while the app is open.

If this did not solve it

Contact support with the client's name, the screen you're on (the profile's Progress tab or the page in the Progress menu), the missing measurement and the dates of the records that have it.
