When it happens
The full message is “The request was blocked by the security protection. Wait a few minutes and try again; if it keeps happening, contact support.” It can appear in any action that talks to the server, when you save, send or open something:
- on the website, in a temporary notice, in an error message inside a window or on the error card of a list or a page that did not load;
- in the app, in a temporary notice, on the error card of a screen that did not load, or under a record in Records waiting to send.
What it means
In front of MyFitnessClient there is a security protection layer that can refuse a request before it reaches the application. This message appears when that layer is the one that refuses it. It has nothing to do with your permissions, your plan or the team. The protection can react to the network the request comes from, so it is worth trying another network.
When MyFitnessClient itself refuses an action for lack of permission, the message is different. In these cases, waiting does not fix it:
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| “You don't have permission for this action.” | MyFitnessClient refused this action for your account. |
| “Your account doesn't have permission for this. If it should, get in touch.” | Your account type, professional or client, does not give access to this area. |
| “You don't have permission to do this in this team.” | In the team you are working in, you are missing the permission for this action. The team owner can give it to you. |
Steps
To do the action again:
- Wait a few minutes and repeat the action only once, without repeating it several times in a row.
- If the notice comes back, connect to another network and repeat the action: mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or the other way round.
- If you use a VPN or a network blocker, turn it off and repeat the action.
When the protection lets the request through, the action completes and the notice does not appear.
Common problems
It only happens on one network
If the notice appears on a shared network, such as the one in an office, a gym or a hotel, and does not appear on mobile data, the likely cause is that network. Use another network in the meantime. If you really need that one, write to support and say where and at what time it happens.
On the website, while a page is loading
When the same block happens while a list or a page is loading, the error card shows this same message; in some sections it shows “We could not load this information”. Wait a few minutes and open the page again: if it opens, the block has passed. If the card stays, see “We could not load this information” and other error cards.
Questions
Did I do something wrong?
As a rule, no. The message says the protection stopped the request. It says nothing about your account, your plan or your permissions.
Did I lose what I was saving?
That action was not saved, because the request did not reach the application. Repeat it when the notice stops appearing.
In the app, a record that shows this message in Records waiting to send stays saved on your phone. To send it, see Record “to review” or “The server did not accept this record”.
Can I remove the block myself?
There is no option in MyFitnessClient for that. Waiting, changing network or turning off the VPN and, as a last step, writing to support are the ways out.
If this did not solve it
Write to [email protected] and send:
- your account email;
- the exact message that appeared;
- the day and time it happened;
- what you were doing;
- whether it was on the website, with the name of the browser, or in the app, with the phone model;
- whether it also happens on another network.
If the website error card shows a Reference, you can send it, but it is not enough: for a request stopped by this protection, that code is created by your browser and does not identify the request in the MyFitnessClient logs.
