The 12-month guarantee protects your access to a course you pay your professional for on MyFitnessClient. It is there so you do not lose the course if they leave the platform, whether they stop paying for their plan or close their account. You accept this rule in one of the two boxes on the course page, before paying.
What the guarantee covers
- One-time purchase: you have access to the course for 12 months from the purchase, even if the professional leaves MyFitnessClient. In the purchase panel, the page says “One-time payment, 12 months of guaranteed access”.
- Subscription: you have access until the end of the period you have already paid for, even if the professional leaves MyFitnessClient. In the purchase panel, the page says “Access while the subscription remains active”.
After the 12 months
On a one-time purchase, while the professional has a paid plan on MyFitnessClient, the course stays available, with no end date. As for what happens if they stop paying, the availability box says: “once the guarantee ends, the course is only available while {name} has a paid plan on MyFitnessClient, up to 90 days after they stop paying.”
What you accept when you buy
On the course page, the purchase panel has two boxes before the Buy course or Subscribe button. On the screen, {name} is your professional's name:
- Availability: “I accept that I have guaranteed access for 12 months from the purchase (on a subscription, until the end of the paid period), even if {name} leaves MyFitnessClient, and that, once the guarantee ends, the course is only available while {name} has a paid plan on MyFitnessClient, up to 90 days after they stop paying.”
- Immediate access: “I want immediate access to the course and understand that, once it starts, I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal.”
Both boxes apply to the one-time purchase and to the subscription. They start unticked on every course, and the button only becomes active with both ticked. A purchase request without them is refused with “Tick both confirmations before buying.”
By ticking the immediate access box, you ask to start right away and acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days once access starts. What this right is and when it applies is in Right of withdrawal: withdraw from a purchase within 14 days.
Who sells to you
The course is sold by your professional, not by MyFitnessClient. On the Stripe payment page, the notice says “Sold by {name}, acting as a trader.”, that the contract is with them and not with MyFitnessClient, gives the professional's contact and adds “Cancellations, refunds and the right of withdrawal are handled by {name}.”
The contact is the contact email on the professional's public profile or, if there is none, their account email. Both notices only appear when the professional has a name on their profile. Without a name, the availability box shows “Professional” in place of {name}.
What is recorded and the confirmation email
When you select Buy course or Subscribe, MyFitnessClient records each box you ticked: the text in Portuguese and the language you read it in, the date and time, the IP address and the browser. The record is kept while your account exists and for up to 5 years after it is deleted.
When the payment is confirmed, you receive the contract confirmation at your account's email address, in your account's language. The subject is “Course purchase confirmed” or, for a subscription, “Course subscription confirmed”. The email says “Keep this email: it confirms your contract.” and includes:
- the course, the price (with “one-time payment” or the subscription period), the seller, the contact and the date;
- the sentence “Your contract is with {name}, acting as a trader. MyFitnessClient provides the platform.”;
- under “What you accepted”, the text of both boxes, each with the date and time you accepted it;
- a button to open the course.
If the professional stops paying or closes their account
If they no longer have a paid plan
- One-time purchase: during the 12 months of the guarantee, the course stays available. Before access ends, you receive an email with the date the course stops being available and the professional's contact, about 30 days before that date.
- Subscription: the subscription stops renewing. If your payments are up to date, you receive an email saying that the subscription will not be charged again and that you have access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
If they close their account
If the professional's clients still have paid days left on plans or packages, the account does not close straight away: the closure is scheduled for the last of those days, no more than 3 months after the request. In that case, the clients they coach receive the notification “Your professional is closing their account”, also by email. The message gives the account's last day and says that “From today, no subscription will renew.” The deadline the message gives for the plans you paid for does not apply to a purchased course, which keeps its guarantee. With no paid days, the account closes straight away, without this notification.
When the account closes, you receive an email with each course you bought and the date until which you still have access, along with the professional's contact. A course whose guarantee has already ended appears in the list of those no longer available.
If the professional cancels the closure, you receive the notification “Your professional is no longer closing their account”.
Questions
Do I have to tick both boxes?
Yes. Without both ticked, the Buy course or Subscribe button does not become active and you cannot get to payment. The purchase steps are in Buy or subscribe to a course.
Can I withdraw from the purchase within the 14 days?
By ticking the immediate access box, you accept that, once it starts, you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal. For any question about the purchase, talk to your professional using the contact in the confirmation email.
What if the course is a subscription?
The guarantee runs until the end of the period you have already paid for. While payments are up to date, Stripe charges each period and access continues. To cancel or view the receipts, see Manage a course subscription and view receipts.
