Overview
A workout is a list of exercises with sets, reps, and rest. You build a workout once, in Workouts, and reuse it with as many clients as you want: it's the foundation of all your programming on the platform.
Steps to create a workout
- Open Workouts, switch to the Workouts tab and click New workout.
- Give the workout a name.
- Click Add exercise and search the exercise library.
- For each exercise, set the sets (use Add set for more), reps (a single value or a min–max range), the weight, and the rest (in seconds).
- To change a set's type, select its number and choose: Normal, Warm-up, Feeder Set, To Failure, Drop Set, Back-off Set, or Cluster Set (only on rep-based exercises outside circuits). For a cluster, set its mini-blocks and the short rest between them.
- To prescribe RPE, RIR, or tempo (e.g. 3-0-1-0), change the exercise's type, above its sets, to Custom and use Add field. To leave a note, use Add note.
- Click Create Workout. The workout needs a name and at least one exercise. Once it's created, whenever you open it to edit, your changes save on their own.
In each exercise's menu, use Create Superset or Create Circuit to group exercises. With Section you split the workout into parts, such as the warm-up, and Save as section, in the section's menu, lets you reuse a part in other workouts.
Good to know
- You prescribe the set types in the workout. During execution, the app keeps that structure (including Cluster set blocks) so the client can log the values and completion.
- The workouts you create are private: they're only available to the clients you assign them to and, if you use a workout in a course lesson, to the people enrolled in that course.
- A section can have its own note: use Add note under the section's name. On the website, the client reads it above that section's exercises. Save as section keeps the note too, and it comes back when you insert the section into another workout. When you edit a saved section, you can change its note as well.
Next steps
With the workout ready, you can assign it to a client or add it to a multi-week program. To explore the workouts area in context, use the tutorial button at the top of this page.
